Happy 25th Anniversary Nana and Tigger!!!

Enjoy your day!!!

Felix's First Wedding

This weekend we had back to back weddings...well, on Sunday we went to Betsy and Lea-Anne's Civil Union. Felix joined us for this one and not only was he the most handsome man there, he was the best behaved! The ceremony was beautiful with poetry and song. The ladies looked amazing, as you will see below! We hung out in the shade, as it was really hot! Benjamin played badminton and boccie, while Felix explored the grounds and nursed under a tree! We cut out before dinner was served, but certainly enjoyed the passed apps!! Yum!
It is ironic that the only two weddings we went to this summer were within the same weekend, the lst weekend before school starts! Summer is over! Sad!

Jocelyn and Dusty's Wedding

On Saturday, Benjamin and I left Felix with his grandma and went to Jocelyn and Dusty's wedding! It was a sunny day, perfect for an outdoor Vermont wedding. The bride and groom were beautiful...note that Jocelyn MADE her wedding dress. So amazing! We visited with friends, enjoyed cold beer, and kicked Chris and Lindsey's ass in a mean game of BAGGO! Baggo, of course, is essentially a bean bag toss with rules and points, but loads of fun. We left just as the mosquitos were joining us!

Early Literacy

Even though I am not working this year, don't think my mind has veered from early literacy and its importance!!! Felix and I read lots of books each day and we are working on some sign language too.

favorite people

I have learned as I have gotten older that there are few people in life that you can genuinely connect with in every aspect! It's a sad fact, but I consider myself lucky because I have a few of said people in my life. Elizabeth, one of my favorite people in the whole world, came to visit us from Colorado. We had such a fantastic time chatting, shopping, laughing, and solving the world's problems! We miss you!!!

Put Me in Coach

Being such a big Creedence fan, Felix suggested his mom register to win John Fogerty tickets to his recent concert at Shelburne Museum. She won the tickets and we headed out to the lawn for a rainy but all around beautiful night of outdoor chillin' and classic rock. Alas, we forgot the camera, so here's a shot of the main attraction. Felix was a champ and danced the night away from the happy confines of his stroller. What can I say, the kid loves music.

Hoosiers!

Felix was treated to a veritable buffet of Indiana family a couple of weeks ago (we're a little behind on postings), including his Opa John, His Great Grandma Roesch, his uncle Jacob (care of Tarrytown, NY), and his Great Aunts Jane, Barbara, and Margaret (care of Palm Beach, FL) who all came bearing gifts and photos and good cheer. We had a wonderful visit and Felix enjoyed meeting everyone. Plus, Great Grandma Roesch treated Felix and bought him a swing (battery, not wind-up), which he enjoys with great frequency. I included an action shot below of its assemblage, undertaken by Jacob and Barbara. Special notice here goes to his Oma Anita who wasn't present, but sent along Felix's first scrap book, which is so nice and artfully done that it warrants entry into the Scrapbook Hall of Fame, provided there is such a thing. Thanks to everyone for coming!! And thanks to Margaret for being patient when her flight home was cancelled (twice).

Belly Time

In the continued pursuit of perspective expansion, sometimes a man just needs to lay on his belly

More Lobster Day (Can you Stand It?)

Here's some more snaps from the Lobster Day festivities in Stonington, including shots of Felix getting some sun (er, shade) at the beach, some good Grandparent time, and cozing up to his older cousin Sean (a one year old veritable Felix clone). As we're all learning, cuteness is everywhere, and exponential.

Lobster Day!

This past weekend, we ventured to the coast of Connecticut for the annual Lobster Day celebration. Felix visited with his grandma and grandpa, who paraded him around to everyone in the neighborhood who had heard of "Famous Felix". He also got to meet most of the Meehan family and his 13 second cousins (all under the age of 7)! It did feel a bit like romper room at times, but thank goodness for golf cart rides and big puddles to jump in. Lobster Day is such a great tradition because it brings all of the family together for good food, boat rides, long walks, and laughs! One does have to be careful of the water because there are 4, yes, 4 new babies that will join the family within the next year! Congratulations all!

Felix also got to meet his Great-Grandparents Meehan! Great-Grandpa was celebrating his 85th birthday! We are glad he is feeling better after his recent stint in the hospital. We hope he continues to do well in the coming weeks!

Felix was dressed for the occasion with his Lobster shorts! Everyone usually wears something with a lobster on it, so it was quite the challenge finding lobster gear for an infant. Alas, an over-priced British catalog came through for us!

My dad and I were hanging out in the giant comfy chair during the rain storm Saturday afternoon!
