Felix had his first tastes of solid food this week! He had some sweet pea puree and some rice cereal!
He loves those peas, but was in a complete state of misery when served the rice cereal. I think we will skip the rice for now and try some sweet potato puree! Here are some photos from the first bites! So CUTE!!!
A Little SUPER BABY for your pleasure!

Christmas Photo Shoot
My First Thanksgiving
After many a conversation, we decided to stay in Vermont for Thanksgiving. Sean and Michelle were housesitting about 30 minutes from Burlington on a big piece of property equipped with two weirdo dogs and two horses. It was just the five of us for dinner and we had enough food for at least 10! It was a traditional menu, although I thoroughly missed the pumpkin pie. In fact, days later I was still missing it, so Benjamin bought me a piece at a local cafe! YUM! Finally, I was able to stop talking about it. We missed all of the family we didn't see, but had a nice day! Below are photos of Felix feeding the horses! He had a little help from his dad, but had a blast checking out his first horses!

meet aunt jessica!
Last weekend, my Opa came back to Burlington so that I could meet my Aunt Jessica! She loved holding me, giving me kisses, and cuddling up with Stella, too! All the pictures of her I had seen, she had blonde hair and when she arrived I was surprised! She dyed her hair Black! I still think she is beautiful! We celebrated Aunt Jessica's 20th birthday, did some shopping, and visited the Ben & Jerry's factory. Unfortunately, I was a little fussy while she was here. I think I am starting to get some teeth and boy...that almost hurts more than my vaccines! Opa sang me my "F-E-L-I-X" song over and over and I loved it every time! Dad and Uncle Jacob loved joining in for a verse or two! It was nice to see everyone again! It does make me a little sad that I won't see Opa and Oma until February!

my grammie
we realized yesterday that we don't have a lot of photos of me and my grammie!
i think it is because she lives the closest to me and we often forget to take photos when she comes over to play.
on this particular afternoon, grammie was watching me while moma took stella to the vet. i chose to cry and cry while moma was away, that is until grammie gave me a bottle and i fell fast asleep. poor grammie, didn't dare move while i was sleeping. when i woke up, i was as sweet as could be and that is when moma decided to take our photo! thanks for watching me, grammie!

Halloween Photo Shoot
So...my dad and Elizabeth brought Felix this little Halloween outfit when they came to visit and I thought I would attempt a photo shoot at my mom's house because she has tons of decorations everywhere. Well, I put Felix in this cute little outfit and attempted to pose him. He, of course, wanted NOTHING to do with it. Below are the results...
Delehanty Visitors
Grandma and Grandpa Delehanty made their way up to Vermont from Connecticut 2 weekends ago!
We went on an autumn walk in the woods, saw "Burn After Reading" and had yummy meals at Maegen and Jay's house. Felix loved showing his grandparents all of his new tricks...you know, like holding his head up, sucking his thumb, talking like crazy, and exploring the world around him.

Since our discovery of Facebook, our blog has taken a hit...YIKES!

Keeping the Doctor Away: Fruit Picking, Vol. 1
With the coming of fall comes our yearly trip to Shelburne Orchards to pick a bounty of delicious apples from the trees, some of which were turned into a bubbly trough of Apple Crisp, Brown Betty to its friends, for last night's dessert. Picking apples is a surprisingly low maintenance enterprise and takes virtually no time at all, which allowed us more time to focus on our real goal, the acquisition and devouring of cider doughnuts. And on that score, I can report, in the words of our fearless leader, George W. Bush: Mission Accomplished.
Visit from Auntie Leah
Felix's (honorary) Aunt Leah came to town for a visit this weekend. She's been on the road all summer, going coast to coast and in between working for Clean Vibes and seeing enviable amounts of live music. Yes, we're jealous. Among the highlights, she said, were Radiohead and Tom Petty, but who really wants to see them anyway? She hadn't seen Felix since just after he was born and she was awed by his progress and pretty much head over heels in love with him. We were sorry to see her go...come again soon!

Happy Hour
Fall Clothing
Well, Hello Mr. Thumb
Are you two related?
Walk around Burlington long enough in the company of a (former) Delehanty sister and you're bound to experience some variation of the following exchange:
"Shannon?"
"No, I'm Maegen, Shannon's my sister."
OR
"Maegen?"
"No, I'm Shannon, Maegen's my sister."
Now, the sisters often begrudge these instances with claims of "we don't look THAT much alike!" But I now bring forth irrefutable photographic proof. Behold.

major meltdown
today felix and i headed downtown to run some errands and hopefully meet up with aunty meg for lunch. so felix ate before we left, but started to fuss as we got to rite-aid to drop off a prescription. i gave him his pacifier and he sucked for a short while before ejecting it from his mouth. as we walked to the bank, the fuss got a little more intense, but not quite a cry. by the time we got to the bank, the cry was in full force and the melt down began. i thought, oh i can handle this, i brought the carrier with me today. grabbed the screaming baby, put him in the carrier and proceeded to walk around a bit to settle him down. settle down wasn't really what felix had in mind...the cry became louder and more intense...quivering lips, crocodile tears, the whole works. major meltdown!!! how could he be hungry, i just fed him, thought the new mom with the screaming baby! so we walked to city hall park to find a bench to hang out on. the poor guy, finally started to calm down after i took him out of the carrier, took his pants off because now we were both sweating, and began to feed him. after eating, he fell fast asleep and i could have done the same, but we were still down town. Yup...i did say we were going to meet aunty meg for lunch but jury duty called! felix slept while i ate lunch, got coffee, picked up the prescription, and walked all the way home...in fact, he is still sleeping phew!
